La Hija del Ganges

What a moving book I just read! La Hija del Ganges, or Daughter of the Ganges by Asha Miro, tells the true story of young Asha, adopted from an Indian orphanage when she was 7 years old. The book chronicles her adaptation to her new family in Barcelona as well as her search later on in life for her biological family in India. From the beautiful letters her Spanish mom wrote her throughout her life, to the incredible story of how she was separated from her biological family, this book leads you through the many emotions of an adoption - both the beauty and sadness of it all.

This book is also available in English. Asha Miro was one of the authors of the last book I shared on this blog: O Rastro do Sandalo.
