Saturday Sunshine - One Step at aTime

K is learning to walk.  He is almost there.  We have all been trying to help him.  Even A.  This is from about 3-4 weeks ago, so he is further along, but thought I'd share this brotherly moment.  (Excuse my snorting.)

Countdowns...

in 7 days.... my cast comes off
in 8 days ... baby k's ears get turned on

i cannot wait any longer

enough scratching people i love when i hug them
enough yucky peely skin on my hand
enough swelling and tightness in this crazy heat
enough moratorium on working out

my temporary discomfort will end
the world will open up for my baby boy

we are counting and ready for some semblance of normal.

Saturday Sunshine: Too Many Car Trips

This is what they do in the last 30 minutes of a long trip.  12 hour car trip next week is going to be tough.  We will travel overnight, which means you may also see a picture of me or Bill like this - hopefully not at the same time!

Saturday Sunshine - Ethiopian Friends

One week before we left for Ethiopia, I hounded these children and their father at Costco.  I got my nerve up to ask if they were from Ethiopia, fearing I'd be a "grocery idiot" as Katy calls them.  Turns out they were from Ethiopia and they are the only other Ethiopian adoptees we know of in our city (so far).  We've gotten together twice and it has been so good for us!

Saturday Sunshine - "Esnow"

Snow!  Not much, but it was enough for a certain 3 year old whose parents still have not bought him mittens!  Nothing a sock and some plastic bags can't solve.  Happy Saturday!
